Carol Cudjoe
Artistic Director
NuLook was founded in 1996 and has been a great influence to many young people of Central Florida through dynamic dance productions, dance classes and inspiring workshops. Trinidad and Tobago born, Carol has achieved a distinctive career in the area of performing arts. Her accolades include NuLook gracing the cover of The Urban Jamm Convention publication; voted Community Leaders by Star 94.5 radio; a member of Who’s Who Black Women’s – Washington edition.; highlighted in the Mark II Dinner Theater publication for her works in the astounding play “Zarabi”, and a full repertoire of her own.
Carol started dancing at age 6 with the Les Enfant Dance Company under the leadership of Joyce Kirten. She was trained in Jazz, Ballet, Modern (Horton and Graham technique) and Caribbean folkloric. She traveled extensively with Les Enfant as she rose from dancer to lead and then to choreographer. She has been privileged to train with masters like Katherine Dunham, Wilfred Mark, Peter London, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, Astor Johnson, Noble Douglas to name a few. As a celebration of her work and choreography, Carol was awarded the "2009 Educator of the Year" - Co. Dance Convention.
Carol’s honesty and frankness to her students brings out the strength and passion that lies within her dancers. She is known for her demanding teaching style, yet also known to be a caring artist who seeks the best for herself and others….. The music rolls and the dance flows! Carol is an integral part of keeping the performing arts and entertainment vibrant in the Central Florida area. She is dedicated to the community and viewed as a leader of the arts. In addition to NuLook School of Performing Arts she is launching her newest project “Shades – A Dance Company”. Stay Tuned.
Michael Morales
Senior Company Ballet
Michael began his early dance training in his hometown of Tucson, AZ. He is a graduate of the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts in California. He holds a BFA in Ballet from the University of Utah with a teaching and performing emphasis. Michael was a member of Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando, now called Orlando Ballet, and the Utah Ballet Co. in Salt Lake City. He has also performed with Ballet West, Atlanta Ballet and appeared with Southern Arizon'a light Opera Company in such musicals as West Side Story and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Michael spent a year working for the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan and several years at the Walt Disney World Resort. Currently you can see him at the Beauty and the Beast show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Linda Eve Elchak (McCreary)
Modern and Ballet Instructor
A passionate mother, dancer, choreographer, and educator. Linda has had the privilege of being trained with teachers from the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, the Mark Morris Dance group, the American Ballet Theatre, the New York City Ballet, The International Ballet of Cuba, the Denishaw School, and Isadora Duncan Dance Repertory. Linda focused her attentions at a young age in dance education to develop her skills and knowledge in “dissecting the body” for proper dance training. Linda uses her talents to teach dancers how to access their potential. Linda's passion is to reach as many people that she can to help influence their outlook on the dance arts. The technical training she provides dancers is not a fast one, and independently trains professional dancers to access their own body wisdom to dance longer and stronger throughout their career.
Cara Appleby
Jazz Instructor
My name is Cara Appleby and I have been dancing since the age of 3. I absolutely love it and am inspired each day by the transformation of the art! I studied a range of styles including: Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Tap, Hip-hop, & Tumbling for 14 years under the direction of Shelleh Harkcom at Deltona Dance Academy in Deltona, FL. When I was 8, I started dancing professionally at Walt Disney World. At the age of 14, I won a dance competition on ESPN sponsored by Paula Abdul. She then flew me out to LA to be featured on a TV with her. I knew, after such an experience, I was bound for California when I graduated! I headed west at 18 was signed by Bloc Talent Agency. I have had the opportunity to travel overseas, across country, and perform a variety of industrials. Some of my accomplishments & performances include: "That's So Raven" Disney Channel, "Haunted Mansion" music video, "Coca-Cola commercial, "Lays" potato chip commercial, Dance Tour throughout Italy, "Redken" hair show & production in Vegas, Britney Hastings off Broadway production in New York, "Carnival" in LA, and numerous more performances! My past experiences and continuous training helps me provide the best environment as a teacher and role model for my students and their future.
Elizabeth Bliach
Jazz/Ballet Instructor
Elizabeth Bliach a dancer, choreographer, performer and actress is trained in the disciplines of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Modern Dance. She has been dancing for 18 years, competitively for 9 years and has been teaching preschool through adult for the past 6 years. Elizabeth has choreographed for auditions, showcases, school musicals, shows and plays. She has received dance scholarships, Company Dance Leadership award and voted Best Dancer and Best Choreographer 3 years in a row. Elizabeth's high energy, and dedication along with a positive attitude and personality will keep you entertained.
Victoria Rose
Jazz Instructor
Ms. Victoria Rose is a new addition to the NuLook Studio Staff. Originally born in Texas, Victoria spent four years living in Germany during her childhood, but spent most of her life residing in Orlando. Vitoria spent most of her development as a dance magnet at Dr. Phillips High School as well as the Orlando Ballet. She has also had previous experience as a performer at Walt Disney World. Victoria has a very strong background in Hip Hop, Jazz, African, and Ballet. She has won multiple awards for her dancing, including the 2006 gold medal for the NAACP ACT-SO dance competition. Currently Victoria is now going on her 3rd veteran season as an Orlando Magic Dancer. Since being on the team, she has received wonderful opportunities representing the NBA traveling with the team on 3 overseas trips all which include Wuhan, China, Rome, Italy, and currently Manila, Philippines. In addition to her work with the Magic Dancers, Victoria has also danced for the Diversity Dance Company, Fantashique, Lady Thundercats and Essence Dance Line at Clark Atlanta. Her talents reach far outside the confines of dancing and include community endeavors, cooking and writing poetry. Victoria's advice for all aspiring dancers is to "never give up on your dreams because someone tells you that you can't achieve it. There could always be something bigger and better that God has planned and is waiting on you."
Erin Gillum
Jazz Instructor
Erin Gillum is currently traveling internationally with Walt Disney World Troupe. We wish her well as she lives her dreams and anxiously await her return to our studio as the resident Jazz Choreographer.
